About the Doctor

Professor Wenbin Li is a specialist in comprehensive neuro-oncological care and clinical research on innovative therapeutics, with nearly 40 years of experience in clinical practice and scientific research. He was a visiting scholar at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania, conducted research on molecular diagnosis of tumor micrometastases at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, and pursued research in cancer immunotherapy at Moffitt Cancer Center in the United States. After returning to China, he engaged in clinical practice and research at Xuanwu Hospital, Beijing Shijitan Hospital, and Beijing Tiantan Hospital, all affiliated with Capital Medical University.

Professor Li specializes in the comprehensive treatment of central nervous system tumors, including gliomas, meningiomas, germ cell tumors, medulloblastomas, and brain metastases. He places particular emphasis on systematic reassessment of patients with relapsed or refractory disease or disease progression after multiple lines of therapy, exploring appropriate precision drug treatment options and opportunities to participate in clinical research. He integrates imaging, pathology, molecular testing, and prior treatment information with each patient’s overall condition to develop individualized treatment plans through multidisciplinary collaboration.

In clinical research on innovative therapeutics, Professor Li has led more than 50 domestic and international multicenter drug trials, including two Phase I clinical trials of key innovative drugs under China’s 13th Five-Year Plan. He also serves as the China General Coordinator for the Glioblastoma Adaptive Global Innovative Learning Environment (GBM AGILE), an international multicenter platform trial for glioblastoma. His research encompasses brain-penetrant small-molecule targeted agents, immunomodulatory drugs, cell therapies, oncolytic viruses, and Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields), addressing conditions including recurrent glioblastoma, high-grade gliomas, meningiomas, pediatric low-grade gliomas, and NF1-associated plexiform neurofibromas.

Professor Li has long been involved in international clinical research and academic exchange. In recent years, he has presented research findings on multiple occasions at international scientific meetings, including those of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). He has published more than 150 academic papers covering the molecular mechanisms of nervous system tumors, the tumor microenvironment, precision treatment, and clinical translation.
